AAM Action

AAM Action is a joint effort of the United Steelworkers Union (USW) and several leading domestic steel producers. It is a non-partisan group that educates and mobilizes on public policy issues related to jobs, manufacturing, trade policy, pension reform, healthcare, and other issues that impact American families and their workplaces.

Regional Coordinators

Lou Delatore, Wellsburg, West Virginia; ldelatore@aamfg.org.  Lou is an AAM Action Field Coordinator for West Virginia, Kentucky, Maryland, and Virginia.  He is also employed by Wheeling Pitt Steel, starting there on May 15,1989 until present. He began his Wheeling Pitt career as a laborer and worked his way up to caster.  He presently holds the title of ladle controller, controlling the speed at which molten steel flows between the ladle and tundish.  As Lou explains it, the caster position is a place where only a handful of people want to work; it’s very hot, very dangerous.  (The caster ultimately turns molten steel into a solid slab.) Mark Musho, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; mmusho@aamfg.org.  Mark is the AAM Field Coordinator for Eastern Pennsylvania.  Prior to AAM, he worked for 30 years at United States Steel, at the Fairless, PA plant.  He spent most of that time working in the open hearth. 

Ken Poweski, North Olmsted, Ohio; kpoweski@aamfg.org.  Ken is the AAM field coordinator for Ohio.  Prior to joining AAM’s field staff Ken worked in Cleveland’s J&L/LTV Steel mill for 25 years (from 1976-2001).  He worked as a Burner/Welder, Machine Operator, Quality Control Inspector,  and was a roller on the ¼X80 temper mill.  Ken was also a Grievance Committee Man and Assistant Incentive Chairman for LTV Steel.  After LTV closed in 2001 Ken worked for the Transition Center in Cleveland, which assisted dislocated steelworkers.

Mike Mitchell, Merrillville, Indiana; mmitchell@aamfg.org.  Michael is the AAM field coordinator for the Indiana /Illinois region.  Prior to joining AAM’s field staff, Michael worked at U.S. Steel’s Gary works mill for 30 years and was a  Motor Inspector /Electrician.

Meghan McKeefry, Neenah, Wisconsin; mmckeefry@aamfg.org.  Meghan is the AAM field coordinator for Wisconsin and Michigan.  Prior to joining AAM’s field staff, Meghan worked in the paper industry while pursing a Bachelor’s degree.  Meghan worked summers at Georgia-Pacific in Green Bay, Wisconsin for four years and performed many jobs in the tissue and toweling departments during that time, including wrapper operator and quality control/inspection. 

Mike “Mickey” Bolt, Transfer, Pennsylvania; mbolt@aamfg.org.  Mike is the AAM field coordinator for Western Pennsylvania.  Prior to joining AAM, he worked at Wheatland Tube Co. in Wheatland Pennsylvania as a laboratory technician for 31 years. He is presently on loan from Wheatland Tube to work for AAM.

Tina DeMao, Kittanning, Pa; tdemao@aamfg.org.  Tina is an AAM field coordinator for Pennsylvania.  She worked at the Pennex Pharmaceutical Plant for 2 years and then at Carson Industries, a small family-owned foundry, for more than 10 years. 

Kevin Baird, Louisville, Kentucky; kbaird@aamfg.org.  Kevin is the AAM field coordinator for Kentucky.  Prior to joining AAM, he worked in an Alcan Aluminum factory for 13 years as a floater and rolling mill operator.

Megan Manjerovic, Pittsburgh, PA; mmanjerovic@aamfg.org.  Megan is an AAM Action Field Coordinator for Pennsylvania.  She is a 2008 graduate of Saint Bonaventure University in Olean, NY with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and French.

Rachel Bennett Steury, Auburn, Indiana; rsteury@aamfg.org.  Rachel is the AAM field coordinator for Northeast Indiana.  Prior to joining AAM’s field staff, she worked in an automotive component manufacturing plant for 11 years and was a Mechanical Goods Prep, drove a forklift, and operated conveyor-driven production machinery.
