Report says India's manufacturing sector is on the rise

A new report by Knight Frank India touts India's rapid industrial rise and suggests that the country will emerge as a major rival for China.
The report highlights the top 25 manufacturing destinations in India, along with the infrastructure costs and land leasing details. Among its key findings:
• India is fast emerging as an alternative manufacturing destination to China
• Top 5 Indian states will need 69,905 hectares of industrial land to sustain manufacturing growth of 21%
• Metal overtakes Food processing as the largest sector over a decade
• Tamil Nadu and Gujarat to emerge as strong contenders for automobile; and Petroleum to dominate manufacturing in Andhra Pradesh
