You’ve got enough on your mind planning the feast, so let us take care of some of the prep.

I blinked and went from planning Halloween Trunk or Treats to franticly searching my New York Times Cooking app for turkey recipes. Thanksgiving is only NINE DAYS away! And then we jump right into the winter holiday hosting circuit. So, now’s the time to procure the hosting gear you need. By sourcing from American manufacturers and makers, you’ll help communities around the country grow. A pretty great way to live out the gratitude that Thanksgiving is all about!

All of these recommendations come from our 2025 Made in America Holiday Gift Guide, where we’ve got more than 150 American-made gift ideas from all 50 states, the District of Columbia, and Puerto Rico.

Hosting Supplies:

Chilewich

Picture it: your home is full of elegant placemats, rugs and doormats. You can make that dream a reality with Chilewich. Although designed and headquartered in New York City, the vast majority of Chilewich’s products are manufactured in Chatsworth, Ga. Chilewich invented its own yarn made partially of renewable vegetable content in order to be more sustainable, in addition to its commitment to manufacture almost entirely in the United States (only a tiny portion of its products are made overseas, so check labels). We love the holiday-specific placemats, including this Nutcracker-themed piece. Perfect for anyone who’s currently doing some seasonally appropriate decorating!

Andrew Pearce

In the small town of Hartland, Vt., artisan woodworkers are handcrafting bowls, boards and decorative trees. The wood pieces that Andrew Pearce sells are made from the highest quality New England-sourced lumber. That shows in the sheer quality of these magnificent home and kitchen items. There’s truly something for everyone here, whether you’re a chef looking to expand your kitchen or hoping to decorate your home with pine trees for the holidays.

Owned by husband-and-wife team Carvel and Ashley Norman, Dirty South Pottery makes kitchen and table ceramics that bring handcrafted charm to all your meals. Every piece is designed to be easily handled and stored, so there’s no need to keep these serving dishes, plates and bowls hidden in a display case. Enjoy them every day!

Keep the Kids Busy: (the key to any successful family event)

Artifact Puzzles

From Port Townsend, Wash., comes Artifact Puzzles’ intricately detailed jigsaw puzzles. These are really cool. The company uses a small batch manufacturing model to avoid overproduction and offers a wide variety of styles, including by level of difficulty for more advanced puzzlers and even has a few hand-cut puzzles, made with a real jigsaw!

Did you know that cornhole is a professional sport? Cornhole players of any level or sobriety can appreciate the boards from Cornhole Solutions. Based in Talbott, Cornhole Solutions sells boards intended for competition and more casual, backyard issues. They’re a little pricier, but these boards are built to last!

Blueberry and Third

Anyone with a kid knows that the best gift you can give them (for the sake of the child and parent) is one that keeps them occupied, and this putty will do it! Crazy Aarons brings creativity to life with their famous Thinking Putty, made right in Pennsylvania. From shimmering holiday colors to glow-in-the-dark and scented varieties, each tin is a playful mix of science and imagination. It’s fun for kids and adults alike, proudly made in the USA, and the perfect stocking stuffer to spark smiles, curiosity and a little holiday magic.

It wouldn’t be the holidays if there was no one shopping for little ones. The toys and play furniture from Blueberry and Third will be a more than welcome surprise for any small kids in your life. Founded by a husband-and-wife duo, all these toys fit in with the Montessori philosophy of child development. That means there’s a lot of toys that let the kids figure things out on their own, like Blueberry and Third’s signature product, The Climbing Arch. There’s plenty of other play furniture to choose from as well, in addition to more classic toys like doll houses and activity boards. They’re also made from 100% U.S. sourced wood, so these are truly American gifts!

Gifts for the Host:

Looking for an alternative to the same old holiday card designs you see every year? Want to honor your furry best friend with this year’s missive? NoticeablyNoted’s holiday dog and cat series couldn’t be more adorable. The family-owned company’s products are fully customizable and printed on heavyweight, recycled paper wrapped in biodegradable cellophane. Designer Laurel Hamilton designs each card from her Round Rock, Texas, studio and taps printers in Pelham, Ala., and Van Nuys, Calif., for production.

Laura Zindel’s platters, mugs, and serving dishes feature exquisite animal illustrations and are true showstoppers. But the process behind her exquisite ceramics is just as special. The process starts with clay sourced from a New England clay maker, which is then pressed and molded (using handmade molds) in Brattleboro, Vt. After trimming and glazing the dishes, all that’s left to do is apply the design made by Laura Zindel herself. This process happens every time a piece is ordered since each dish is handmade to your order. These are truly heirloom pieces and a beautiful addition to any holiday table.

After a long day of cooking and cleaning, my hands have been pruned and chapped beyond recognition. A hostess gift of hand lotion could immediately be put to use, and Badger Balm has some of the best lotions out there. New Hampshire is known for its natural beauty, and this family-owned organic body care company is keeping it that way with its sustainable manufacturing practices. Badger Balm‘s employees are a tight-knit community, and being a good place to work is central to the company’s mission. You’ll find lip balms, body oils, hair care and more from Badger Balm, made with all-natural ingredients. These make for a great stocking stuffer! (As a note, Badger Balm does source components from around the world).
