Founded in 2014 by Andrew and Casie VanderLind, along with co-founder Ryan Napier, Where I’m From began as a tribute to Ohio. They set out to create a clothing line that celebrated the place they knew best: their home state of Ohio. Inspired by their deep connection to the communities and culture that shaped them, they wanted to build more than just another apparel brand. They wanted to give people a way to wear their story with pride, whether they were cheering from the stands or missing home from miles away.
From the very beginning, they made a commitment that still sets them apart today. Their apparel is 100% Made in America, something only about 2% of clothing brands can say. Every garment starts with thoughtful design. Fabric blends are chosen for softness and wearability. Details like sleeve length, fit, and drawstring feel are intentionally dialed in. The blank apparel is sewn in Los Angeles, Calif., then designed and printed by their in-house team in Columbus, Ohio. From there, it becomes something more than clothing — it becomes a reflection of where you’re from.
The collection includes everything from broken-in-feeling sweatshirts with bold team graphics to soft tees with subtle hometown references. It’s gear that doesn’t shout but still speaks volumes. The kind you pull on for game day, travel day, or quiet nights around the fire.
Earlier this year, Where I’m From celebrated a hometown high point with a special line honoring Ohio State’s 2024 National Championship. Their limited-edition tees and ash-gray crews sold fast and felt like something only a true local brand could deliver.
You can find Where I’m From apparel at Dick’s Sporting Goods (DSG) and DSW stores across the country. If you happen to be local to Ohio, they also have several brick-and-mortar stores where you can experience the brand in person.
