AAM’s latest explainer video aims to set the record straight about an important lever of trade enforcement.
There’s been a lot of movement in U.S. trade policy recently, and there’s been a lot of corresponding noise about tariffs and the economic calamity they’ll purportedly bring. Today, the Alliance for American Manufacturing is out with a new explainer video to set the record straight about this important lever of trade enforcement.
“Three Tariff Myths, Debunked” walks through how targeted tariffs have helped companies reevaluate their supply chains, shift production back to the United States, and invest in domestic manufacturing. They’re essential to the effort of restoring America’s productive capacity and reducing foreign dependencies, particularly in industries critical to economic and national security.

Don’t forget: Public support for American-made products is robust. According to a November 2024 poll conducted by Morning Consult, 77% of Americans prefer to buy products labeled “Made in America”; and 82% say they would purchase more American-made goods if they were more widely available through major retailers.
“For decades, America’s factory workers have faced the consequences of unfair trade practices — from offshoring and plant closures to stagnating wages and disappearing jobs,” said AAM President Scott Paul in a statement. “Tariffs are one of the few effective tools we have to push back against bad trade actors and rebuild our industrial base. The facts speak for themselves.”
