Karen Kane started as a small business run out of Lonnie and Karen Kane’s Studio City, California, garage in 1979 at the start of their marriage. Several decades and several children later, Karen Kane remains family-owned and operated, but now offers a full complement of clothing for women of all shapes and sizes. Much of Karen Kane’s clothing is still designed and manufactured in Los Angeles, but not all, so remember to check labels!

Kikilu House of Style was founded by Kimberly Anderson, a personal stylist, who felt that, as she and her clients matured, they wanted newer styles for the newer seasons of life. Kimberly took to designing for herself, and Kikilu’s House of Style was born! She partnered with Sew Valley, a zero-waste non-profit garment factory in Cincinnati dedicated to helping more creators manufacture locally. Her trademarked slogan inspires Kimberly and her customers, “Never let age define your style!”

All of the store’s home goods are made in the US, including their wooden kitchen supplies, which are produced locally in Laurel by their company Scotsman Co. Bravo to the Napiers for continuing to use their celebrity to highlight the importance of American manufacturing, and putting their money to good use.
