Virginia native Emily Diehl studied printing and painting before moving to Brooklyn in 2010. There, she established Au Retour, which takes sketches from her paintings and turns them into screen prints and patterns for fabric. Au Retour’s pillows and fabrics are made in small batches, printed on “natural cotton and linen blends with non-toxic water-based inks and fiber reactive dyes,” and everything is hand-sewn in New York.
