R. Riveter is the brainchild of Lisa Bradley and Cameron Cruse, who met in 2011 when their husbands were stationed at Camp Merrill Mountain Range school in the small town of Dahlonega, Ga. The women were unable to find meaningful employment despite possessing master’s degrees, and decided to launch a company that allowed military spouses to work from wherever their family was stationed. After an appearance on Shark Tank, the company took off. While “riveters” continue to make handbags and accessories around the world, the company now has facilities in North Carolina and Florida.
