AAM Statement: Manufacturing Lost 1,000 Jobs in March

Washington, D.C. – Manufacturing lost 1,000 jobs in March, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday.

Alliance for American Manufacturing President Scott Paul said:

“America’s factories continue to experience the destabilizing influence of rising interest rates. The Federal Reserve must understand that its policies are undermining our global competitiveness.

“American manufacturing is a key driver of our nation’s economic success and national security. President Biden has rightly worked to strengthen the United States industrial base through the CHIPS and Science Act, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the Inflation Reduction Act. Those investments must be fully implemented to boost ‘Made in America’ efforts.”
