Washington, D.C. — U.S. factories lost 8,000 jobs in May, according to data released by the Bureau of Labor Statistics on Friday.
“A dip in manufacturing jobs this month underscores the need for consistency in our trade policy. We’re unlikely to see growth in factory jobs until the United States cements its approach,” Alliance for American Manufacturing President Scott Paul said. “The U.S. industrial base has a bright future ahead of it, but it takes years to get a factory up and running. Manufacturers need to know that the U.S. will continue to prioritize domestic manufacturing in order to invest in that future and realize it.”
Alliance for American Manufacturing President Scott Paul is available for interview.
