Issues
During the 2008 presiential primary campaigns, AAM launched an advertising and grassroots campaign – “China Cheats” - to urge the presidential candidates to level the playing field for American Indiana workers and manufacturers by holding China accountable for cheating.
The U.S. has losty more than 1.8 million jobs since 2001 due to the trade deficit with China.
To get answers from the candidates, you need to get involved. Here’s how you can help:
• Go to a candidate event. Raise your hand during audience questions and ask these simple questions:
- What are you going to do about China’s cheating?
- Will you enforce U.S. trade laws to hold China accountable?
• Write a letter to the editor. Write to your local paper and ask why the candidates are not taking a strong stand on China. Some key points for a letter are included below along with a list of local newspaper contacts.
If you’re concerned about America losing good-paying jobs, then you need to speak out. We’ll keep you posted on upcoming candidate events, and please contact us with any questions or let us know how you’ve made a difference: info@aamfg.org. We’ll even post your emails on our blog.
