Steel Caucus Leaders Have Opportunity to Restore American Jobs: AAM Statement

Reps. Crawford and Bost named as new co-chairmen

Reps. Rick Crawford (R-AR) and Mike Bost (R-IL) will co-chair the Congressional Steel Caucus, according to a Wednesday announcement. Rep. Pete Visclosky (D-IN) will continue to serve as vice-chairman.

Said Alliance for American Manufacturing (AAM) President Scott Paul:

"Our nation has long been supported by our country’s steelmakers, and we look forward to working with Reps. Crawford and Bost to further strengthen our economy and create middle-class jobs.

“Layoff notices have recently gone out to workers in at least two Pennsylvania steel mills as imports surge. The administration continues to talk big, but it has delayed vital job-saving policies including the Section 232 investigations into steel and aluminum imports.

"Domestic steel producers and American workers need congressional leadership more than ever before to restore the steel jobs that support our nation's economy, national security, and critical infrastructure."
